Richard is a founding member of the Halcyon Group and heads up the Halcyon Financial Services Division with his specialised knowledge of financial markets, risk management and strategic financial planning. He is a seasoned director with over 33 years of extensive expertise in the finance industry and is dedicated to meeting the financial needs of his clients with unprecedented excellence. Richard is passionate about his family and the East London community. He is also an outdoors enthusiast and is a regular presence, paddling on the Nahoon River.
Claire has been with Halcyon for over 25 years and holds the position of Operational Manager and Director of Halcyon Short Term. Claire’s unwavering commitment lies in providing Halcyon clients with exceptional service and tailored insurance solutions specific to their individual needs. She embraces the development of new and innovative products aimed at advancing the insurance industry and is dedicated to staying at the forefront of market trends. Claire is a valued member of the BNI network and assists as a Director Consultant to serve and lead members as well as holding a Mentor role in the Rotary Leadership Programme. Beyond Claire’s professional accomplishments, she is an enthusiastic sportswoman and plays a variety of sports from tennis, squash and padel to cycling.
Gary is a co-founder of the Halcyon Group. With a career spanning over 35 years, he has been instrumental in shaping the trajectory of the Halcyon Group. He has cultivated lasting relationships with both individuals and businesses, earning a reputation for integrity and reliability within the industry. Living in the picturesque beachside community of Kwelegha, Gary remains active by swimming and enjoying the seaside lifestyle.
Fred heads up the Halcyon Direct Services Division which manages risk associated with Halcyon Direct Services Funeral Parlors within the Group. With 40 years of industry experience and 30 years of association with Halcyon, his commitment, knowledge and expertise position him to deliver the best service to all stakeholders of HDS Funeral Parlors. Namely Menlinet Pty Ltd Trading as Matabeses Funeral, VFS Funerals and Siselamandla, which collectively have 22 branches within the Eastern Cape and Free State. Fred has emerged as a trusted leader holding the title of Chairman and Director of the National Funeral Parlor Association South Africa. He is a passionate sportsman which has seen him achieve 4 provincial colours. Fred is currently Vice-President of Border Bowls and has previously served on Border Referees, Lions Referees and Molteno Golf Club Committees. A devoted family man, he is dedicated to his 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren and the Halcyon family.
